Un PDF describe una página impresa, no un documento con párrafos. Por eso la mayoría de los programas se niegan a cambiar una palabra una vez creado el archivo.
RetypePDF lee las instrucciones de texto dentro de la página y las reescribe. La palabra sustituida desaparece de verdad del archivo — no queda cubierta. El texto sigue siendo seleccionable y buscable, y el archivo no engorda.
Los cambios cortos — un nombre, una fecha, una referencia — se comportan de forma predecible. Lo que no hace: recomponer párrafos, ni editar páginas escaneadas. Un escaneo es una foto; dentro no hay texto que reescribir.
How it works

- Download. The result is a normal PDF — selectable text, no watermark, same file size.
Real text editing, not a white box
Most free online PDF editors fake it. They draw a white rectangle over the words you wanted to change and print new text on top. It looks fine until you put it on a coloured background, or until somebody selects the text and finds the original wording still sitting underneath.
RetypePDF rewrites the text operators inside the PDF itself. The old words are genuinely gone — not hidden, not covered. The page stays vector text you can search and select, and the file does not balloon in size.

Your file never leaves your device
Editing runs entirely in your browser. The PDF is not uploaded, not stored on a server, and not readable by us — which matters, because the documents people actually need to fix are invoices, contracts, payslips and statements. The only thing our server ever receives is a count of how many documents you processed, so your daily allowance can be tracked.
There is exactly one exception, and you control it: if a result comes out wrong you can send us a problem report. That never happens automatically. Reports carry only a technical summary by default — no text from your document — and including the document itself is a separate box you tick each time.

¿Por qué algunas líneas no se dejan editar?
Porque editarlas corrompería el archivo. Un PDF solo incrusta los glifos que usa; para una letra que nunca apareció, la tipografía no tiene dibujo. En vez de imprimir un recuadro vacío, RetypePDF rechaza el cambio y te dice qué caracteres faltan.
