Un PDF descrive una pagina stampata, non un documento con paragrafi. Per questo la maggior parte dei programmi si rifiuta di cambiare una parola una volta creato il file.
RetypePDF legge le istruzioni di testo dentro la pagina e le riscrive. La parola sostituita sparisce davvero dal file — non viene ricoperta. Il testo resta selezionabile e ricercabile, e il file non cresce.
Le modifiche brevi — un nome, una data, un riferimento — si comportano in modo prevedibile. Cosa non fa: ricomporre i paragrafi e modificare pagine scansionate. Una scansione è una foto; dentro non c'è testo da riscrivere.
How it works

Real text editing, not a white box
Most free online PDF editors fake it. They draw a white rectangle over the words you wanted to change and print new text on top. It looks fine until you put it on a coloured background, or until somebody selects the text and finds the original wording still sitting underneath.
RetypePDF rewrites the text operators inside the PDF itself. The old words are genuinely gone — not hidden, not covered. The page stays vector text you can search and select, and the file does not balloon in size.

Your file never leaves your device
Editing runs entirely in your browser. The PDF is not uploaded, not stored on a server, and not readable by us — which matters, because the documents people actually need to fix are invoices, contracts, payslips and statements. The only thing our server ever receives is a count of how many documents you processed, so your daily allowance can be tracked.
There is exactly one exception, and you control it: if a result comes out wrong you can send us a problem report. That never happens automatically. Reports carry only a technical summary by default — no text from your document — and including the document itself is a separate box you tick each time.

Viene riscritto davvero. RetypePDF modifica le istruzioni di testo dentro la pagina: le parole vecchie escono dal file invece di finire sotto un rettangolo bianco. Seleziona il testo nel file scaricato — c'è solo la versione nuova.
Modificare rovinerà l'impaginazione?
La riga modificata conserva posizione, carattere e corpo, ma il testo non si ricompone. Un sostituto molto più lungo sporge oltre la fine della riga. Le modifiche brevi — nome, data, riferimento — sono prevedibili; riscrivere un paragrafo no.
Perché alcune righe non si lasciano modificare?
Perché modificarle danneggerebbe il file. Un PDF incorpora solo i glifi che usa; per una lettera mai apparsa, il carattere non ha alcun disegno. Invece di stampare un quadratino vuoto, RetypePDF rifiuta la modifica e ti dice quali caratteri mancano.
